Industrial Metal Rapid 5 Minute Epoxy Paste
Industrial Metal Rapid is a metal-filled epoxy repair paste with a fast 5-minute work time for applications where a quick turnaround is required. It rebuilds threads, protects and reinforces metalwork, and fills cracks and breaks. Industrial Metal Rapid can also be used for low pressure pipe and tank repairs.
The 5-minute gel time of Industrial Metal Rapid enables rapid repairs to be made. It bonds to metal, most plastics and wood. A functional cure is achieved in one hour and a full cure in 24 hours.
Industrial Metal Rapid is reinforced with corrosion-resistant metal platelets. The platelets provide excellent protection for surfaces in aggressive environments from corrosion and chemical attack, whilst giving it a smoother finish than regular epoxy pastes when machined.
In low pressure pipe repairs, Industrial Metal Rapid is used to strengthen pipelines. Where corrosion or other environmental factors have weakened the exterior of a pipe, it rebuilds outer wall thickness to original specification.
It fills damage caused by impact and pitting and is used to reline worn areas in pumps and valves. Away from pipe repair, Industrial Metal Rapid is used for the repair and maintenance of castings and automotive bodywork. It fills gaps and gouges and rebuilds worn and damaged threads.

Industrial Metal Rapid 5 Minute Epoxy Repair Paste Details
Before applying Industrial Metal Rapid, surfaces should be free of paint, rust and grime. The substrate should then be roughened up through either grit blasting or grinding with a coarse wheel or abrasive disk pad.

Industrial Metal Rapid should be applied as soon as the preparation procedure is completed. Part A and Part B are mixed together in equal measures by weight or volume.
The epoxy paste is then spread over the area requiring repair using a putty knife. Industrial Metal Rapid should be pushed in firmly to ensure maximum contact and to avoid trapping air between the paste and the surface.
In pipe repair applications, a SylWrap Pipe Repair Bandage is wrapped over Industrial Metal Rapid as soon as the epoxy paste has been applied. SylWrap will provide a rock-hard, impact resistant layer of protection, further strengthening the weakened section of pipeline.
Industrial Metal Rapid has a gel time of 5 minutes. It achieves a functional cure in 60 minutes and full cure in 24 hours. It is thixotropic, meaning it will not sag.
It is virtually odourless, with no unpleasant smell compared to other epoxy pastes. Its light consistency makes it easier to mix than stiff, heavy traditional epoxy pastes.
Industrial Metal Rapid is temperature resistant to 95°C. For repairs where extreme temperature resistance is required, please see Titanium Supergrade HT Epoxy Paste. Titanium Supergrade is resistant to 130°C and offers much higher compressive strength.
