Superfast Aqua Potable Water Epoxy Putty Stick (Wet Surface Repair)
Superfast Aqua Potable Water Epoxy Putty Stick is a fast-working epoxy repair putty in an easy-to-use stick format with a specialist formulation enabling very high wet surface and underwater adhesion. It bonds to many different substrates, has WRAS Approval and is most commonly used in pipe repair applications.
Superfast Aqua PW adheres to metal, most plastics, ceramic, GRP, concrete, fibreglass, glass, wood and other materials in damp, wet, saltwater and freshwater conditions. It has a 5-minute work time. Within one hour of application, systems can be put back into light use.
Each Aqua PW Stick weighs 114g, has a nominal 22mm diameter and is 175mm long. It contains resin on the outside and hardener in the middle. The user simply cuts off the required amount of putty from the Stick and kneads by hand before applying to the substrate to be repaired or bonded.
When repairing leaking pipework, Superfast Aqua PW is pushed into cracks with pressure turned off. It cures to a rock-hard material, sealing the leak with resistance to 30 bar. WRAS approval means Superfast Aqua PW is certified as safe to use with drinking water.
It also repairs pipe surface damage caused by pitting and corrosion. Applying Superfast Aqua PW to fill-in and rebuild weakened areas increases outer wall thickness, strengthening pipeline integrity.
Away from pipe repair, Superfast Aqua PW is used in the maintenance of boats, swimming pools, spas, hot tubs and ponds. It sets to a white colour, and is resistant to chemicals and temperatures up to 150ºC. The cured material can be tapped, drilled, screwed, sawed, machined, ground, filed, or painted.
Superfast Aqua Potable Water Epoxy Putty Stick Details
To use a Superfast Aqua PW Stick, the amount of epoxy putty required is cut off and kneaded by hand until it turns a uniform white colour with no streaks.
Whilst soft, the putty is pushed into holes and cracks where it will cure, sealing and filling areas of damage. For bonding, you apply the putty and use it to attach the pieces requiring repair together.
Superfast Aqua PW has a work life of approximately 5 minutes. Within 10–15 minutes, it will harden and form a cohesive bond. Systems can be put back into light service after an hour. Working strength is achieved after 5–8 hours and maximum properties after 24 hours.
It contains no solvents or VOC’s, it is non-flammable and releases no noxious fumes. It will not shrink or pull away and the unused portion of Aqua PW Stick stays fresh for future use when saved in its original package.
Pipe repairs made with Superfast Aqua PW Stick can be overwrapped with a SylWrap Pipe Repair Bandage for added reinforcement. Like Superfast Aqua PW, SylWrap Bandage can be applied underwater.
